Την Παρασκευή 18 Σεπτεμβρίου, η OSM Tapes υποδέχεται στη Θεσσαλονίκη, για πρώτη φορά, ένα από τα πιο χαρακτηριστικά ονόματα της σύγχρονης dark electronic σκηνής, τους Light Asylum. Η Shannon Funchess φέρνει στην πόλη το σκοτεινό, δυναμικό και ιδιαίτερα επιβλητικό live project της, σε μία πολυαναμενόμενη πρώτη εμφάνιση στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Τη βραδιά ανοίγει ο Bitchwavez. 𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐀𝐒𝐘𝐋𝐔𝐌 Οι Light Asylum είναι το μουσικό project της Shannon Funchess, vocalist, producer και multidisciplinary performance artist, που ξεκίνησε στο Brooklyn το 2007. Με χαρακτηριστική βαθιά φωνή και έναν ήχο που συνδυάζει darkwave, synth-pop, EBM και techno επιρροές, οι Light Asylum έχουν εξελιχθεί σε μία από τις πιο αναγνωρίσιμες παρουσίες της σύγχρονης dark electronic σκηνής. Το project έγινε ευρύτερα γνωστό μέσα από το EP In Tension το 2010 και το ομώνυμο ντεμπούτο άλμπουμ Light Asylum, που κυκλοφόρησε το 2012 μέσω της Mexican Summer, με κομμάτια όπως τα “Dark Allies” και “Shallow Tears”. Η χαρακτηριστική προσέγγιση της Funchess συνδυάζει έντονα synths, δυναμικά electronic beats και σκοτεινή ατμόσφαιρα με μια ιδιαίτερα επιβλητική φωνητική παρουσία. Παράλληλα με τους Light Asylum, η Shannon Funchess έχει συνεργαστεί ως vocalist και producer με καλλιτέχνες και projects όπως οι The Knife, LCD Soundsystem, ADULT., TV on the Radio και !!!. Μετά από μία πολυετή περίοδο απουσίας, τα τελευταία χρόνια επέστρεψε ενεργά στους Light Asylum, παρουσιάζοντας ξανά το project σε clubs και festivals διεθνώς και ανοίγοντας ένα νέο κεφάλαιο στη μουσική του πορεία. Η εμφάνισή τους στη Θεσσαλονίκη αποτελεί την πρώτη συναυλία των Light Asylum στην πόλη. 𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐀𝐒𝐘𝐋𝐔𝐌 Light Asylum is the musical project of Shannon Funchess, vocalist, producer and multidisciplinary performance artist, originally formed in Brooklyn in 2007. Defined by Funchess' powerful contralto and a distinctive blend of darkwave, synth-pop, EBM and techno influences, Light Asylum has established itself as one of the most recognizable names in contemporary dark electronic music. The project gained wider recognition with the release of the In Tension EP in 2010, followed by the self-titled debut album Light Asylum in 2012 via Mexican Summer, featuring tracks such as “Dark Allies” and “Shallow Tears”.
